Did you ever go back to the shelter for a copy of your "contract" or "aggreement?" You mentioned that you could not find it in all the paperwork you did receive.
Also, just because the shelter now has an attorney does not mean someone from the shelter will not be in court. It's possible the owner/manager & all the people you delt with will be in court too as the judge will want to question them. Some may be considered witnesses.
Anywho.......Good luck in March!

Dear QVC Petlovers and supportive Friends,
Good News!
The lawyers emailed me yesterday re: a "settlement".
They wanted to know what date we could "talk" and the date has been set.
Does anyone here have experience with this?
Do I prepare my defense or have they already decided the amount?
Is a settlement a take-it-or-leave-it situation or is it negotiable?

See my post above ... they're offering a settlement.
Anyway, to answer your question -
I've got my own witness - Another adopter who got a sick dog from them.
However, here's the difference ...
My adoption was conditional .. as per the counselor, - "if you adopt the dog, we'll give you antibiotics" ... which they did NOT do. We KNEW my dog was sick before I adopted her and the agreement was they'd give me the medicine to treat her Upper Respiratory Infection.
My WITNESS also got a sick dog from them, but she didn't know the dog was sick until AFTER she'd adopted the dog.
The shelter gave her a case manager and free meds to treat the dog.
SNEAKY!!!!
Double-standard.

@RinaRina-Contact Legal Aid for assistance on how to proceed with the attorneys. Never speak to a lawyer without a lawyer beside you. They are out to protect the interests of their client.
