It moved from the front door to the garden bed in the front of the house that has a couple of Abelia bushes. It was on the ground pecking like it was trying to get a worm.

Looks like some type of Thrush with the brown speckled chest.

I know Robins eat worms. Is that what a Thrush would eat?

It either flew off or mama came & got it. After I took a shower it was gone. Hopefully it's safe.

I have seen birds on the ground before while mom was trying to get them to leave the nest flying. Some don't fly at first they plop to the ground. Guess they are scared.

No one is coming to "get it"  how is a bird ging to get it?  they do not carry baskets. lol  once a baby is out of the nest it is abandoned. Capture the bird and turn it in to a bird rescue  so they can save the babys life
