Re: Attn: Are Looking to purchase a kitten?

@Tinkrbl44 @I feel that it's more than just harsh to be glad that someone was the victim of a crime. I can understand you supporting adoption and I can understand you detesting the purchase of pure breed animals instead of adoption from shelters but I can't understand you being glad anyone is a crime victim.

Re: Attn: Are Looking to purchase a kitten?

@Venezia   She did contact Zelle.  I do not have any more details.  On a personal note,  I own a Tonkinese and she is 15 years old.  She is the sweetest, mellow cat I have ever owned.  Very intelligent and you can tell her one time and she remembers.  Happy Birthday, Ava.

Re: Attn: Are Looking to purchase a kitten?

@Katcat1 - It's so hard when you are allergic to cats and you love them!

By opening her heart to a kitty that is meant to be hers, I meant finding one anywhere. Chances are she won't find that specific one at a shelter- although it could happen. But I'm sure she will able to find the right kitty with a reputable breeder when the time is right, and that little kitty will bless her life!  Smiley Happy

Re: Attn: Are Looking to purchase a kitten?

@Tinkrbl44   Not everyone wants to adopt.  People have choices and if she wants to spend $700 that is her business.  She has allergies and the Devon Rex is hypoallergic.  People should adopt -- how narrow minded is that.  People should should do whatever they want to do.

@Love4cats   What a terrible thing for you to say that you are glad she lost her money.  Shame on you.  People have choices and if they want a purebred they should purchase one.  How ridiculous for you to say everyone should adopt pets.

@Katcat1 What the hell are you talking about? I just agreed that people should adopt. Go back and read the post again and this time try to COMPREHEND what I said!!!!! Don't be nasty and ignorant!!!!!

Re: Attn: Are Looking to purchase a kitten?

@Katcat1 Unfortunately contacting Zelle will do her no good. There is absolutely NO fraud protection with Zelle. Once the money is sent, it's gone and there is no means of recovery.

The current AARP magazine has a huge article about scams like this and addressed why the use of any cash app for a transaction with a stranger is taking the risk of losing your money to a scam.

Another reason @Katcat1 to wait for "the rest of the story" before opening ones mouth with negativity.  Allergies have stopped many from adopting or purchasing a pet and she went to great lengths to research to find one she could live with.

She unfortunately got scammed and I am very sorry.  If there was a way I could help I would. Zelle is just like cash as  money is paid out immediately from your account.  Using a credit card is your best protection.  Scammers would never accept a credit card.

Hope she is able to regroup and find her forever friend.

Re: Attn: Are Looking to purchase a kitten?

Ah, the put downs from those who adopt.  I've done both.   I've adopted mixed breeds from shelters and I've gotten rough coated collies from breeders (6).  Sometimes you just want what you want.

I think adopting is a wonderful thing, but I don't look down at those who choose to get a puppy from a breeder.

@Love4cats    You agreed with anything Tinker had to say and that included happy the woman lost her money.  You sound very narrow minded.  "Adopt don't buy a pet" == that is a personal choice and who are you to dictate what people do.  So quit calling me names when you are the one making the rude remarks.

This is what Tinkrbl44: wrote:

Sorry, but I'm in the group that thinks people should never purchase an animal ... they should ADOPT from their local shelters.   Cat Very Happy

$700 for a kitten?  Yes, I know this sounds harsh, but I'm glad she lost her money.  She could have adopted a beautiful kitten at her local shelter and had $600 left to donate to that shelter for all the good they do.  Cat Very Happy

JMO, of course.   Cat Very Happy This is what Love4cats wrote in response:

I am with you, with hundred's of beautiful kitten's and cat's that need forever home's, why buy one when you can go to a local shelter and get one.

Re: Attn: Are Looking to purchase a kitten?

I am grateful that someone purchased a purebred dog or I would not have been able to adopt her from animal control.
