Update for all who have taken the time to post - after giving it thought and research, we have decided not to get a pet rabbit.  DH has allergies and the last thing either of us want to do is adopt one and not be able to keep him/her.  Plus I'm not sure if either of us would be allergic to the hay for feeding.

 

The other problem would be trying to find a veterinarian in our local area, so as much as I appreciate everyone's help, I just wanted to thank everyone and update.

 

I'm not sure what other types of pets we may look at adopting; as much as I'd love to have a kitty (had many growing up as a young child), DH is very allergic to them.

 

Thanks again to everyone who took their time to give advice/suggestions, etc.
