`We adopted a 7 yr old cat... Won't be able to get her until Tuesday... Her name is fluffy and she is black and white... can't wait to get her home. She was very friendly in the shelter...

@Junebug54Congratulations!  My kitties bring me a lot of joy, can't imagine life without them.  They are both around 7 also, still have lots of energy.

I'm so happy for you and Fluffy!  Time enough to gather everything she will need ( and want! ) before she gets home!

Does she have any playmates awaiting her or will she be Queen of the castle?

Some cats are real pros at getting themselves adopted and some, not so much.  The good ones are friendly, go right to the front of the cage, to greet people maybe with a meow and act glad to see you.  When held they snuggle right into your neck.

They out to give lessons to the rest.

@Kachina624Years ago when looking for a dog at the shelter, the dog that was way in the back looking shy got our attention.  We took her out in the outside play area and nothing.  We left but couldn't stop thinking about her.  We went back and adopted her, she had been there for 10 days.  It seemed pretty apparant she had been not treated well, She blossomed after we got a small dog to be her friend, ironically she was dumped for supposedly not getting along with their small dog.

How wonderful! It's always heartwarming when a little one is adopted, especially those a bit older who may have a more difficult time finding a family.

May you have many happy years together. Heart
