GOOD NEWS!! The mules owner was located this morning! He just left with his mule! He lived a little farther away than we'd first searched but because of the lost and found site on Facebook, the owner was contacted. Happy ending! Apparently the mule likes to wander but has never gone that far, the deputy that was on the case gave the guy a thorough talking to about the need to keep his animal secure on his property.

 

 

And just to clarify, the livestock agency was only going to hold the mule until someone could be contacted to foster him for our local animal shelter. Before the owner came forward, I talked with the animal shelter director and she said she would have waited a certain time frame for an owner to claim, then he would have been put up for adoption. The mule was not going to be sold to anything other than someone who'd care for him.

I am glad the owner was found. And all is well.Thanks for doing all you did to try and find the owner and making sure the mule was feed and secure.
