He appears to have the grizzly hump on his back but not sure. Either way he is so cute having fun.

The film was shot in Alaska, so it's a brown bear, or Kodiak Brown Bear, which is most closely related to the Grizzly Bear, I believe they are subspecies of the same bear.  The American Black Bear (which also has a brown coat variant, sometimes called a "cinnamon" bear) is a different species.  And the bear was hunting the stream looking for salmon to catch and eat.  Bear will run up and down stream deltas as they meet a bay or the ocean, because the stream is shallow enough to more easily trap and catch a salmon.  The salmon runs are vital to the Kodiak bears' autumn gorging to fatten up for hibernation, the fish are a dense source of protein, fat and calories overall.

What's interesting is how bears can get so fat in the fall and yet never become diabetic, nor do they suffer kidney failure from not drinking much water for months, either.  There are ongoing metabolic studies being done on hibernating bears here in the lower 48 to try to figure out what is going on, in hopes of developing treatments for humans who suffer from those ailments.
