These places are not cracked up to what you think . But Thank-you for the idea. I love my home more now than I ever did. And it's home.

I have always been part of their life. I just don't like to be around their smoking and drinking. My oldest tries very much not to do this. But not to get somrtimes weeks to get my calls returned id a little much in my opinion. So please try to understand how they find very little time to keep in touch with me. I could never treat anyone like that.

@BeccaLou, your children should return your calls, I agree. Is there a neighbor or friend you could call if you needed help?

I want you to know, you are not the only elderly person dealing with adult children who behave like this. My neighbor, who is also a widow is in the same situation and its very sad.

I'm afraid there are a lot of elderly parents who are not being treated very well by their children.
