Where did you find anything in my original post to indicate that  anyone, including one of  the actual relatives (my houseguest),   of this young girl are "just shrugging it off"?

And I'm sorry.......but I personally cannot and  will not "intervene".

I'm not related in any way to the people or family members involved.

I trust, from what I was told, that the girl's relatives will keep an eye on the situation.  They are not happy with it now, as I plainly stated in my original pot.

My original post was just a search for other opinions about a situation that I and others  consider rather bizarre and potentially hazardous.

I'd be willing to bet  some other people think flowers sent by a new neighbor to a child were "just being friendly".

I got more opinions that I agree with  than I bargained for!!

The police would laugh-- or more politely, just move on to a more important case.

The police might not be able to do anything, but I do not think they would find this situation laughable.  They have probably come across this pattern of grooming behavior many times.

Very, very inappropiate, he is setting them up....I would not accept anything from them, and would cut the ties to the friendliness real quick! That is a huge sign......The parents better wake up before something horrible happens to that precious little girl.

Yes it's very creepy. Hopefully her parents will keep her away from him.

I was at the store this weekend and I saw a woman with her 2 kids. It was a warm day. The kids had no shirts on. The older kid was a girl of 8 or 9. She could've been 7, I'm bad with children's ages. But I feel that's too old for a girl to have no shirt even though she had no breast development at all, still flat as a board but still. You don't know if there's a pedophile nearby. Just keep your children safe.
