UPS DELIVERY MAY BE OPTIONAL IF THEY USE AN INDEPENDENT CONTRACTOR

Be forewarned: if you use UPS for package delivery and the destination is served by an independent delivery contractor to UPS, your package may not get delivered !

I took a very large package to my local UPS and was told it would be next day delivery just as all my other packages had been. Well Friday came and went: Tuesday AM it may be delivered: both the local and destination UPS supervisors are monitoring the independent now.

My serious concern as I advised them: recipient was in a homeless shelter while her senior apartment was being repaired after a stove fire. Sprinkler system didn’t work. Items in the package were to replace daily living needs. She uses a walker and has been in the apartment every time the alleged delivery was attempted.

Next time I will the use the US Postal Service...an extra day would be fine for guaranteed delivery !
