I have a grandson who will be 18 months old at Christmas. I was wondering if any of you Moms with children around that age have any toy recommendations. My son and daughter-in-law will say he doesn't need anything but I am his Grandma and I am going to buy him Christmas presents!!!! Thanks!

I would look for anything educational. Try Toys R Us or someplace like that. You want safe toys, too. Boys usually love trucks and cars as well.

I definitely want some educational toys but would love to hear which specific toys kids that age like. My other grandkids are older and they don't know what he would like either. Thanks!

Save your cash...open up a savings account in his name. Every birthday and holiday make a deposit..it pays to save.

My grandsons love Scout from Leapfrog. The dog sings songs with the boy's names in the song. They love that. They always love the big metal Tonka trucks, too.

Thanks, I will definitely look into those! My daughter in law says he "talks" a lot whenever he sees a truck on the road so maybe he is ready for some trucks of his own!

I trust you were kidding about ""I am his Grandma and I am going to buy him Christmas presents"" if it is against the parents wishes.

I didn't mean that they didn't want him to have anything, they just know that they can afford to buy him anything he wants. They are fine with us buying things for him, they just don't think it's necessary.

I just gave a Fisher Price RIDE TO STRIDE Dog toy. It can be pushed (like a cart) or ridden on. Plus you can play with the different shapes, putting them in the correct holes. It talks, it sings, it lights up. Great activity-driven toy, will give him hours of fun.

Google it. kmart sells them, I got the best price there.

Fisher Price has some really good toys.

Thanks, Lucky Charm. I will definitely look into that one. I know Fisher Price is good but it's helpful to get specific recommendations from people who actually have the toys. Thank you!
