I have a grandson who will be 18 months old at Christmas. I was wondering if any of you Moms with children around that age have any toy recommendations. My son and daughter-in-law will say he doesn't need anything but I am his Grandma and I am going to buy him Christmas presents!!!! Thanks!

I would look for anything educational. Try Toys R Us or someplace like that. You want safe toys, too. Boys usually love trucks and cars as well.

My grandsons love Scout from Leapfrog. The dog sings songs with the boy's names in the song. They love that. They always love the big metal Tonka trucks, too.

My daughter in law says he "talks" a lot whenever he sees a truck on the road so maybe he is ready for some trucks of his own!My grandsons love Scout from Leapfrog. I trust you were kidding about ""I am his Grandma and I am going to buy him Christmas presents"" if it is against the parents wishes.

They are fine with us buying things for him, they just don't think it's necessary. On 10/9/2014 Baylie said:I have a grandson who will be 18 months old at Christmas. I just gave a Fisher Price RIDE TO STRIDE Dog toy. It can be pushed (like a cart) or ridden on. Plus you can play with the different shapes, putting them in the correct holes. It talks, it sings, it lights up. Great activity-driven toy, will give him hours of fun.
Google it. kmart sells them, I got the best price there.
Fisher Price has some really good toys.
