I remember reading it as a child and loved the story.  I don’t remember how old I was but Barnes & Noble bookstore listed it as good for children 4-7.

I think that is such a wonderful story and I remember having it read to me too.

I think a five year old would like it very much.

"If you walk the footsteps of a stranger, you'll learn things you never knew. Can you sing with all the voices of the mountains? can you paint with all the colors of the wind?"

I loved this story as a kid. The book will be wonderful for the child.
