Don't know where you live but a cruise to Alaska would be my choice if you choose a ship with a children's program.

Just a heads up...be prepared to pay to park at any MGM property.

@tace28 I have friends with children and grandchildren and they rent a house for a week.
One just went to Florida and the other to Lake Michigan. They have fun things to do and are able to cook. With young children, I would always want to have a frig with snacks.
The one that went to Florida was right on the beach.
I would not take children to Vegas. But it sure is great for adults.

If you can afford it, I would stay at the Signature at MGM Grand. They have a big water park that the kids can play. You can book a room with a kitchenette. There's no cheap food on the strip. There's an aquarium and swim with the dolphins, I think at Mandalay Bay. But it's $$$$. You could take a day trip to the Grand Canyon and do the glass sky walk over the canyon. You could stay at Circus Circus on the north end of the strip. It's an old hotel and not really nice.
Just thought of a place you might like, but it's about 10 minutes southwest of the strip.
Red Rock hotel and casino. Great place for kids. There's a big food court, small movie theater, bowling alley, kids games. For the adults there's a sports bar, gambling, restaurants.
The Fremont experience downtown is entertaining. They have a zipline, light show, and free concerts.
@Scooby Doo You do have some good ideas and some like you said $$$$.
I do have to disagree about taking children to Fremont street.
Even at my age I am shocked at how some of the people dress, men and women.
And sometimes not very much dress. I mean a man with only a g-string.

My kid has been going since a toddler. So much to do. Mine enjoys walking though the casinos. (not in the adult areas of course) Mine loves walking in the stores on the strip (M & M shop, Coca Cola etc.)
There's so many food choices. Many malls to go to. The water park, Circus Circus, Paris attraction, Stratosphere attraction, New YorK New York and Hoover dam (close by)
Maybe the teens can watch the others in a hotel room or one of the adults. Not sure about a babysitter I don't know. (Op kids are not babies or toddlers)
Bring lots of $, and have fun!

Maybe a Disney cruise.. Alaskan cruise don't have many kids and it would cost more than vegas.

@castlenv wrote:I also live near Las Vegas and I agree with the previous poster. I would NOT bring children of that age. It is HOT--I don't understand how people can sit at at the pool for any length of time--and although there are some things of interest for young people, e.g., Circus Circus, Hoover Dam, the atmosphere is not for children. Find another place to go.
I agree that it's to hot to go (like walking on the strip etc.) I would schedule it another time of the year. My kid and others have fun there.

It depends on what your children are exposed too. I would not bring babies or toddlers. Many kids have seen it. (unless you shelter them)
