Re: Garmin activity tracker for 6 year old

How to set your child up for future therapy. Sheesh, NO! The mother is putting her own insecurities and self-esteem on this child.

Re: Garmin activity tracker for 6 year old

I bought an activity tracker for my Granddaughter when she was 8.  She still wears it proudly (now 11). While it does track her steps, it also provides meals and food packets to people who need them all over the world based on her steps.  I believe it was through Unicef.  I bought it at target.  I honestly thought she would get bored with it but she monitors it and says she is helping the world.

I think it depends on the intent of a tracker when you give one.   My daughter has one she uses to help plan her marathon runs.  I use mine just to watch steps and heart rate.
