I own the a line shorter skirt from a few seasons ago in black Moss Crepe. I am only 5'3" so sometimes Louis's longer skirts are like Maxi's on me. I am going to wear my new moss crepe top with my older moss crepe skirt.

One thing I just noticed that I'm not crazy about, but isn't necessarily a deal breaker...there are four seams, including one down the center in front and back. I'm pretty sure this is necessary to get the draping effect. In black, it's not as noticeable (which is why I just saw it!) and I'm thinking maybe with more draping of the fabric it's mostly covered. On the medium, it's prominent to my eye. So, I think I'll order the large and see if it disappears in the folds of the fabric...
I'm very picky at times, so this may not be a big deal to anyone else, but I did want to point it out in the interest of full disclosure & helping with sizing decisions.

Probably not in the petite, but I like the shorter sleeker aline skirt in moss crepe. It probably is my imagination, but sometimes I feel like I am walking in a hole with the longer skirts.

I know what you mean re/the shorter moss crepe skirt--it is sleek and such a classic. I purchased it, even though it's above my knee, because I couldn't resist. I wear it lower on my waist to get more length! I also have the matching top--both in black.

Sizing is always tricky for me, too. Always a tough call, which is why I (reluctantly) did the expedited shipping to get an early read on the sizing...In Linea skirts, I usually go up a size, but this time I went by the click here measurements & felt I could get by with a medium, due to the fabric/style. Having said that, I think the large would work equally as well for me. Depends on how much ease you prefer in a skirt. If this skirt didn't have the drape of fabric, I think the medium would be too skimpy on me. Hope that helps a little.
That's good to know, because I actually went up a size. I usually order XS in Linea bottoms, but I wanted to make sure that I had a drapey effect with no pulling. I have no hips, but a generous backside and "tummy issues". Any pulling over those areas is really unattractive, so I decided to try a S. It's reassuring to hear that the next size up would probably have worked for you in addition to the size you ordered. So I should be ok with the larger size.
Sounds like you made the right pick on size. I also have tummy issues and don't like the pull across my middle--the boho skirt does that even in the size large for me. So, I always wear a top that covers the mid=section. With this maxi skirt, there is no problem--I could even tuck in a shirt and it would look good.
I wanted the lower of my two sizes to work for a couple of reasons. I'm losing weight and I was concerned there would be too much fullness in the drape in a larger size. But, that's not the case. The brilliance of Louis makes the difference in how it drapes in a slimming way. I could even use a bit more fabric for "swirling" and be very happy! So, I think you're good with your size and hope you love it! Are you pairing it with the flower tunic?
Ideally, I'll be pairing it with both the embroidered top and Friday's asymmetric neckline top, depending on how they fit!

@GraceCO. Received my skirt in merlot today and I like it very much. However, I see what you mean about the seams. I agree they are probably there to get the nice drape, but my eye goes right to that seam. The seam does disappear just a bit towards the middle to bottom as it drapes. Not a deal breaker though, I still like everything about this skirt. Seems I mistakenly ordered the xxs instead of the xs and that mistake turned out to be a great fit for me. Black is now only available in the xs and I may give that I try. I find the fit forgiving.

When I sewed my own skirts back in the 80's, much this style too, I preferred the center seams for fit and drape, as it keeps the top portion fitted nicely and the bulk of the swing is at the hem.
I also believe, being shorter and an XL, that the seam is slimming. I much prefer center seams over two seams down the front about a foot apart which makes me look two feet wider, or none at all which is ok, but not as beautifully fitted.

Glad it worked out for you!
I feel the same way about the seam--not a deal breaker, but I do notice it. I'm thinking the larger of our 2 sizes would hide it completely behnd a fold.
That's good your sizing "mistake" turned out to be good luck!

Beautiful, but way too long for me.
(edited) Just saw the word "petite" in another post.
