I have this necklace and enjoy it. However, I am confused by the name. Colors have little or nothing to do with Mardi Gras. The colors for this holiday are green, purple and gold. The colors in the necklace are lovely, but varied and definitely not Mardi Gras related. I've lived in the New Orleans area for more than 40 years, and this is definitely not a Mardi Gras necklace here.

Perkup, I think Louis was trying to capture the festive personality of the necklace -- you know, with multi-colored confetti coming down, much like this Mardi Gras flavor ice cream seen in the link below:
Now that I see the link up close, I see that the ice cream sticks to the core colors. I found another Mardi Gras ice cream that had more colors but it won't copy and paste.
Here it is, but it is the carton alone that has the look of the Mardi Gras necklace. Still, there is a festive air with the multiple colors on the carton of Mardi Gras flavor ice cream:
