Oh, yes--Spring skiing will be AMAZING! That's the only benefit! lol
Avalanches are likely to be amazing too. I bet the slopes are very unstable.
Usually the ski patrol creates avalanches so that people are safe when they go skiing. They do this before skiers are allowed up the ski runs.
Exactly, @JustJazzmom! You took the words right out of my mouth! ![]()

I've never skied but know a few people who live in a ski resort town and one DH is part of the ski patrol.

You got it exactly right! The big ski resorts--like Vail, Keystone, Breckenridge, etc.--have it down to a science and are required (by insurors and conscience) to ensure the safety of the skiers. They'll close down whole sections of the mountain, if they think they can't secure it. For all the snowstorms that routinely happen over the many decades we've lived here, I don't recall ever hearing of an avalanche on a groomed ski run...

We have rain & more rain coming in the forecast this month. I had to put the AC on 69° to get it to come on to knock down this humidity.
Thanks--we think so, too--until we have to shovel it
We enjoy the snow--it doesn't last too long, because it's so dry here...With warm temps coming tomorrow, the melt will be quick.
Lucky it fell on a weekend, when we can stay put and sit by the fire. We did the mad dash to the food store, so we've got milk.lol
Are you on the East coast @Nightowlz ?
I'm in Ok. That's our weird weather. We did not get as much rain as they said we would. Glad it did not rain from Sat until this morning. The rain has moved out with the sun shining & 60°. At least it's not 100% humidity.
I'm sure you still have snow. It will take a while to melt all that snow. I remember when we lived in Newfoundland, Canada when I was a kid the snow was over my head. They head to shovel the sidewalk just to get to the basement to do laundry or get to your car. We had big hill area out back we would slide down on the tobbagons.
