Louis has posted some great pictures of him and Donna Karan winning their second Coty Award, the Oscar of Fashion. They are on his website and his facebook page. The back story is a fun read.

Louis’s Blog is wonderful!

His ‘Look Back Thursday’ posts have been a delight.....such fun to read about winning the prestigious Coty Award with Donna Karan.....and the after-party at Studio 54!

Louis’s review of all of his designs for the Q has been marvellous.....so many beautiful, classic items.....you could wear them all today.....even his Anne Klein designs.... timeless.

It's true.  Louis's designs are classic and timeless, and that is why it is understandable that it is impossible for most of us to part with the loads of his fashions that we have purchased over the years.

His fashion instincts are exquisite and unrivaled.

As a side note, I have noticed that some of QVC's other "designers" have used fabric designs that bear an unmistakable resemblance to those used by Louis in his Linea line.  I suspect that QVC is hoping we will buy from that other line since Linea is no longer available.

Not going to happen.  Invariably, the designer (and there have been several trying to mimic Louis's style) makes a fatal artistic error as far as I'm concerned.  Louis's skill and talent are sorely missed.  He cannot be imitated.

His retrospective of his Anne Klein designs is mind boggling. It's impossible to believe they are 30 years old. I would wear every one of them.

His clothing line on the Q was perfection. I see nothing that even compares now. Thankfully his line was so well made and classic that I will have his pieces forever.

So going to miss the Linea collection. I hope Louis continues his blog until he no longer wishes to do so. His exquisite designs are timeless. I think Louis delights in reliving these designs and stories as much as we enjoy reading them.

Even though there has been no new Linea since 2020....the Linea Forum is still very popular in terms of number of Posts/Hearts - under the ‘My Favourite Brand’ category...

I have been buying Louis's clothes since his Anne Klein days when he partnered with Donna Karan.  I have a spectacular wardrobe due to Louis and Giorgio Armani.  Both designers are perfect for me.  I am bereft that Louis is no longer offering new designs. Armani is very pricey so I buy a lot less. I think QVC made a big mistake.

As I've written before, in the future elegance in dressing and dining (with china and linen in one's home) will return.  I may not live to see this moment, but there will be a renewed sense of luxury and taste.

At that moment of a resuscitated interest in beauty and refined taste, an alert young lady will discover a line called Linea that was featured on a TV network called QVC.

Others who have a reawakened sense of beauty and have been introduced to Linea by those who have discovered the precious fashion line will descend upon all avenues of vintage fashions to buy up the line's clothing and jewelry (among other elegant creations, of course).

Linea will reappear as a desirable line in the future.  When, I can't predict.

Ladies, do not give your Linea away.
