Re: Bisque big deal cardigan for blondes?

@crazycockermom - I'll be waiting to see what you think. My coloring is similar to yours. I had enough fun with other colors- caramel, black, and plum! I do have alabaster and that's fine on me, but anything with pale or cool tones doesn't work. I look terrible in magenta. At least there are a lot of choices in the fall line. Smiley Happy

I am a honey blond.  Since I am half Greek and half Swedish, my skin is light, but not pale.  The bisque shade looks good on me. I am looking forwar to the bisque and charcoal gray blazer that is coming in October.

@beach-mom and @culebra
Well, I snoozed and I lost. My order is now on backorder. My fault because I waited, but I wanted to see how one fit before I changed my order to credit card. But what if I really was going to send in a check? By the time they would have gotten my check, the cardi would be on backorder. So it seems to me it’s not really held if you put it on check hold. Whatever..

If by chance I get it, I’ll report back. If not, the caramel is still available. Just wish it had the matching tank.

Thanks for responding ladies!

@crazycockermom

I have the caramel ponte pants, caramel faux suede pant and the prior open front ribbed cardi that was offered with the faux slim leg pant grouping couple years ago. (Sorry, no item #'s now, I'm at the vet)

I ordered the new tobacco tank to go with these garments. I thought I'd erred when I saw Louis comment about the difference between the caramel and tobacco colors. Honestly, the tank does work for me quite nicely. It is not identical but so darn close and with the different material and textures of my other caramel garments, I am very pleased. I even doubled checked all of my caramel clothes against the tobacco tank last night before the free shipping expired. I teally saw no need to order the caramel sleeveless TN for color matching purposes. Hope this helps.

Sorry bout the backordered bisque BD.

Thanks! You are always so helpful. 😊
I will reconsider the caramel. I know that color will look good on me. But I have the caramel blazer from last year, a longer chunkier cardigan in caramel (I think that’s what it was called), and a swing cardigan in nutmeg from several years ago A257376. Frankly I wanted all the colors in the cardigan but I had to restrain myself. Too many vet and other expenses lately. How is your furbaby doing?

@crazycockermom

Thank you. Glad to share my thoughts. Whether you decide to get the caramel BD or not, at least you can get a feel for how the tobacco tank looks/works with my csramel garments. I've seen others here post that they're using these two shades together too. So I'm not the only one who sees the compatibility. Actually, I kind of like the slight variance of textures and colors. I'll toss on a scarf or a piece of jewelry, feel confident and be good to go.

Went to a new vet today. A whole different diagnosis. Instead of acute kidney failure, we're dealing with a heart murmur. More tests were taken with results back on Wed. Even with what the new doc saw today, it wasn't as dire as the other vet indicated. Prior clinic changed owners. All docs that I knew had left (hmmm) prices tripled and I felt like I was a quota instead of a patients parent. I was appalled at the callback and was hurried off the phone cause she had to see patients every 25 minutes. And didn't even offer to make a phone appt when she had more time. Pretty crappy way to handle an alleged end of life diagnosis phone call. I was livid. Plus no more outside opportunities to buy rx meds or ringer set up for home fluid administration etc etc. I always did alot or as much as I could for my pets and sought out the best prices available via Costco or on line sources. They wanted everything done in the clinic only! I'm sure you can relate with your furbabies. Thanks for asking. How are your kiddies?

I'll have to watch the show videos. It was too bright to stream while waiting in my car.

I’m so sorry. How frustrating!! Finding a vet you can trust can be so hard. I’ve changed vets several times. This dropping your pet off and waiting in your car while your pet is inside is so impersonal. Yes, the vet still calls me and we can talk, but it’s different, especially when dealing with such serious matters and have so many questions.

I hope you are pleased with the new vet, that you get the answers you need, and that whatever is wrong isn’t too serious and can be helped.

In February, my girl Gigi was diagnosed with bone cancer on her rear leg. At her age I opted not to put her through amputation or chemo, but I’ve done several other things to try and help her. The tumor is now the size of an orange. She is hanging in there...
In March, Buddy was diagnosed with insulinoma - tumor on his pancreas. Dreadful disease that most vets aren’t familiar with. So far he is doing well with a strict diet, frequent mini-meals and supplements without having to take any meds. *knock on wood*
Cancer sucks.
Such a feeling of helplessness when our pets are sick. You know what I mean. Hugs to you!

Yes. I did see your response. I was quite affected reading it. Stirred up alot of emotion. It's so hard when we have to deal with serious health diagnoses with our pets. My magnificent and beloved Dobie, Nikki had the same cancer as your Gigi. It was in her front leg. At the end,  the vet came to the house. I was a wreck. Didn't go out of the house for three days afterwards. That's when I found Mike locked in the garage. Everyone said Nikki sent this little guy to me. Then his brother Beau showed up and we've had close to 15 years of loving joy. It'll be 2yrs this Nov that we lost Beau to that #&%$#》insidious cancer. You may remember. And you have two heart wrenching pets to tend too...super big (((Hugs))) from me to you. Poor Buddy. Yet glad to hear you're helping him hold his own for now.

I like the new vet alot. He has a great phone side manner. No rushing or brushing off and has clearly availed himself to me and Mike. Additional tests came back. Again, not as dire as the other bitchy vet stated. We are seeing the onset of kidney failure. I'll administer 100ml fluids 1x weekly for now. A KD diet was suggested but more importantly is that he eats. Im giving him an appetite stimulant every two days. He's very thin. Never was that big normally. He's always been my skinny Minnie averaging just 10 lbs. He has a murmur but tests show no stretching of the heart muscles or enlargment. Doc did say seeing a cardiologist wouldn't hurt, a consideration. I've been calling various specialists. So far its late Oct  thru Dec for appts. A pet could die waiting. Geez. And the prices. Whoa. I don't have to tell you but I was taken aback. I did call new doc with a couple more questions this afternoon. I'll likely hear back a little later. Meanwhile, we'll hold our own and take it day by day. Just like you. Stay strong. 💗💓💖

Sorry if I upset you...but such discussions are very upsetting. I didn’t know (or didn’t remember) your Nikki had bone cancer. It’s awful. Gigi is a tough girl, but I don’t want her to suffer. I will never be prepared. We rescued her almost 3 yrs ago in October and I know we’ve showed her lots of love, but it’ll never be enough.

I do believe in signs though and am sure Nikki sent you Mike. And yes, I do remember you talking about Beau...
Remember, they are sent to us for a reason. They need us and we need them. It’s heartbreaking but we have to remember the precious memories made with them. Yeah, easier said than done...

I am glad you found a better vet. It sounds like he is much more caring and helpful. We must take it day by day...each day with them is a gift.

The vet expenses...yikes!! That’s why instead of getting every color in the big deal cardigan, I had to narrow down my choices. Same with the tartan blazer. Both so beautiful, but I chose the pine and I saw in another post that you’re happy with it. Looking forward to getting mine. I hope I transitioned from our pets to Linea ok. I love my Linea, focusing on all his beautiful fashions are a nice diversion from more serious topics.
