why would i cook with a pan that could kill small birds!!!

I recently purchased a technique griddle pan that actually came with a warning if heated to a high temp could kill small birds. It's a griddle pan it should get really hot and how would I know if it reached that temp anyway. I don't want to feed my family food cooked on that type of coating.{#emotions_dlg.sad}
