sorry but I can make waffles for pretty cheap I will not pay 35.00 for waffles? homemade is better than processed food.

DD is cleaning out her kitchen & giving donations, she said her waffle maker is going. I said give it to me. So I'm getting one for free.

But a lot of people don't-won't-can't cook and are happy to shell out the money for the convenience.

I don't have a waffle maker, nor do I intend to buy one.  If I was in the mood for waffles as presented, I might consider.  Some of us are willing to pay for convenience.
