turnips and parsnips

I am sitting here making plans for a pot roast dinner tomorrow. I like to add turnips and parsnips but when my kids were growing up they acted liked they were kytonite. Oh, they'd eat the carrots and potatoes but no turnips or parsnips no matter how I cooked them. One son called them mutant vegetables.

Do you eat turnips and parsnips?
