My personal turnoff with pizza is the crust; it has to be thin and crispy or I'm not eating it. It's why I don't make pizza on any other breads.

Not homemade but I buy frozen Bagel Bites in the grocery store for my three grandchildren. They are ages 8. 11 and 13 and absolutely love them. They are made with mini bagels.

Thanks for your input, @cindyNC! I actually already tried a regular pizza crust and didn't get the results I wanted, so hopefully one of the bagel versions will work better.

Thanks for your input, @JeanLouiseFinch! The pizzas aren't the only thing on the menu, and I really want to make them, so this approach will work fine. As for pitas, I've tried them in the past for pizzas and they worked all right, but they're too thin for what I'd like to do this time around.

Thanks for your input, @Kachina624! I thought about doing French bread pizza or even a slightly softer hoagie pizza, but I'd like round mini pizzas this time.

Thanks for your input, @RedTop! We're fans of crust around here, so that's part of the reason why I'm looking for a more interesting/fun alternative this time.

Thanks for your input, @redbird! As I mentioned earlier in the thread, I do enjoy Bagel Bites, but I'm looking for a homemade option. I think I am leaning a bit more toward the mini bagels than the bagel thins just because I have that bit of experience with the idea and how things would turn out.

My 6 grandchildren do not like pizza bagels. How old are your nephews? My grandson age 10 likes the deep dish frozen pizza's. At this age they eat a lot. When they were little under age 5, I would buy the canned biscuits. Flatten them with your hand or rolling pin and spread out into a larger circle. Top with pizza sauce and cheese. Bake as directed. Much softer than a bagel.

I use biscuit dough. I guess mini bagels are more like bagel bites. I like the idea of the bagel thins. They are a little bigger and easier to hold toppings. I'm sure the kids like the hole in the middle too! You can eat a pizza from your finger ![]()

Thanks for your input, @honeybeagle! I am not a fan of biscuit dough as pizza crust, but it definitely is a convenient option.
