My convection oven heats up faster, I always use it to preheat. I think it cooks more even myself so it depends on what I'm cooking. Meat definitely.

thanks for all of the recommendations!
still not sure i fully understand what it is all about, but i guess i have to do some testing. trial and error may be the best way to go.
i didnt think meats were that good to cook in a convection oven, but maybe i will try out a roast or a chicken to see if there is any difference.
i did roast some vegetables in there this past week, but they seemed to take longer than normal to be ready.

Yes, it is a trial & error type of cooking when it comes to convection cooking. At least for me it was. The convection calculator as well as reading the user manual saved me from calling the fire department.
After about a month of "training" I am now a wizard in the kitchen!!!! My electric oven now stores my pots & pans & everything else I can find to make more room in my cabinets.
