quiche question

I have made quiche for many years. Usually broccoli and mushroom. I always put my cheese on top of the mixture. Someone told me that they mix the cheese into the eggs and cream and pour into the pan with nothing on top. How do you make your quiche and does it make a difference when I add the cheese?
