for the cookbook devotee one cookbook I would suggest is "Hallelujah " by Maya Angelou . Recipes along with her memoirs of obtaining them.

I went to my library to check out the Kindle version to reread it . I see she also had one written in her 80's (?) titled "Great food all day long" .  I checked that one out also and look forward to scrolling through it.

I  have heard it said that  she could have read a phone book (anyone remember those? Smiley Happy ) and make it sound interesting. It sure worked with a cookbook in my esitmation.

Gooseberry Patch are my favorites to read. Haven't made that many recipes from them.
