we ment in market basket the other day. i saw fresh lobster meat for 50 bucks a pound. no thanks. totally not buget freindly.

Wasn't there a glut only a year ago?   I thought Maine fisherman were worried and selling at very low prices.

I freaked when I saw those 8 lobster tails (5-6oz) for $156.00 on the q a couple of days ago.  I saw packages of 2 larger ones at my local Aldi's for $12.99.  Yes we've had these from Aldi's many times, good size, very tasty.  I can buy 8 there for a 1/3 of the price and no s/h.  We usually have tails at either christmas or new year's.

@PINKdogWOOD  That's a good deal, thank you for the recommendation.  I guess no amount of lip-smacking from Sharon was going to convince you to spend $100 more for Greenhead lobster.  I like how they made a big deal about the butter being included.

@ValuSkr  Oh my, lip smacking no doubt!  I can't and don't watch these shows.  They make me laugh outloud at the prices.

The tails at my Aldi's are bigger too than these were.  And I'd prefer to do my own butter, fresh.

Thanks for the info on Aldi! I've never gone there and I think it's time I do! Lobster sounds fabulous.

My suggestion is to go when you have time to spend to look at all you can get there.  It's fun to find all they have, they're great with seasonal items.  And be sure to bring your own bags for your goodies.  You can buy bags there for 10cents, you can also grab empty boxes they have from stocking shelves.

I hope you enjoy your trip.  I guarantee you'll find a lot of great stuff for a LOT LESS money.  Buy all your basics you be surprised at all you get for less.
