let the whiniing begin! British cupcakes sold on qvc

Did anyone order these?  In all my 27 years with QVC, this takes the cake ( or cupcake ). These arrived today, and they were thawed, I took a bite, and they are awful.  They are so dry, I could hardly swallow!  They were suppose to have a little filling I thought?  The are small, flat with more icing than cupcake.  The cupcake itself was maybe 1.5 inches tall with about an inch of frosting just in the center.  No filling or flavor.  I think this is the largest order the ever had, and they ran out of batter, and over baked them.  They are suppose to be dense, not fluffy cupcakes.  But there is a difference between a heavy, dense cake and just plain dry.

anyone who bought them could you let me know how you liked them.  I would leave a review, but the are not available to even view or leave a review.  I called CS and they refunded money, but i would rather have a cupcake.  Sniff.  What a waste of energy on someones behalf, and a waste of money.  I don't mind paying when they are good, but these left me whining.   Whaaaaa!

No idea what you're talking about.  British cupcakes?  Do you have an item number?

When did they sell these?  I'd be interested to see what I can find out about them.

Thank you!  I've just had a look and watched the video.  Having lived in England for 20 years, I can't say I'd pay nearly $4 per cupcake.

I understand what the vendor says about the difference in the butter you get there and what we get here, but I can find cupcakes here that I like well enough not to pay that kind of price.

@shoekitty - The item is there to leave a review and to watch the video.  You can tell from that, that they're smaller than what we expect here and I think only one had a filling.

@Venezia

Thank you for your reply.  I couldnt find them because the order number  that is on my receipt is M52864 .  I place my order about the 10th of november maybe thas why I have a different item #?

because we only ate 1, I ripped the others apart looking for filling.  If one had any, they hid that too.  These are a total disappointment.  I could taste the butter in the one i had though.  Too dry to get down.  Sadly I had to throw out.  I never waste food, ever.  I felt like a criminal.  I knew they would just sit in the freezer forever, and then get tossed.

I'm sorry you didn't like the cupcakes.  That's disappointing when you've been looking forward to something.  The description in the listing didn't say anything about filling though.

Courtney described them as being a pound cake consistency which I think can get dry if not eaten soon after it is made.

When you watch the video, it definitely shows at least 2 with filling and he even talks about how he mixed it by hand-one had an apple/cranberry filling.

They did describe the density (more like a dense poundcake, more dense they said than cakes in the US)and the appeal was supposed to be the butter used in the UK that gave a rich flavor or something.(because their cows like to eat grass he said)

You know, the only thing I can think of is take for example British scones that are not really sweet. I think they are dry and like who would want to eat them?

Maybe the British have a different sense of what tastes good as far as cupcakes and desserts go.

They did look dense enough to hold up all the icing that also looked very dense.Woman Surprised

I can see why you thought they were disappointing.
