ka stand mixer shaking

I recently made some chocolate chip cookies. This is the first time I made these cookies with my mixer. The mixer was fine until I started to add the chocolate chips. The mixer started to shake when I added the chocolate chips and nuts. Is this normal or is there somthing wrong with my mixer.
