I ordered ATK Complete Cooking for Two Cookbook. I like the explanations and already have a grocery list. Going to get to buy smaller pans for baking.
Wish the spine was a ring style. I can already see where flipping around will cause pages to drop out.

The first cooking for two cookbook I found was the first ATK cooking for 2 several years ago. I can cook for a crowd but really struggle when it comes time to make ""small"" meals. When I was 24/7 caregiver for both of my parents the Cooking for 2 recipes were the right size for all three of us. My best suggestion is to think about your favorite what I call ""COW"" recipes or ones that call for a ""Can of Whatever"" soup that make 4 or 6 servings and do a couple smaller versions at the same time to use the whole can at once. I went through my recipes and made a ""mix & match"" list of the ones that were easy to scale down and would just to a couple at the same time then put one in the freezer for later. Kind of like the concept for once a month cooking but on a small scale rather than bulk scale. You can also google almost any recipe with for 2 added and find tons of recipes that have been scaled down for you. One word of caution with ATK recipes. The people that write the recipes are not the ones that do the dishes so be warned that they use lots of pots and pans. LOL

Even though we've been a family of two, since kids moved out-I still cook in family size portions. DH takes extras for lunch, I freeze some, I use leftovers to make other things, (casseroles, stew, soup, etc.). Never got the hang of scaling things down!
I do love cookbooks, even though I don't think I would use these recipes-I hope you enjoy them!
