interesting Temp-tations show on Q2 today

I tuned in for the Temp-tations show on Q2 this afternoon and was surprised to see Lisa LaSorte hosting the show on her own—but in studio, not on Skype! She is doing a great job, explaining all the details of the items well and seeming completely at ease as she works with the control room to go back and forth between the variations she has available to present live and the usual option displays on the website.

Have other vendors presented full shows live on set without hosts in the recent past? Or ever? I'm honestly not recalling this setup happening before, but I obviously don't watch 24 hours a day...  Smiley Happy

And for the next hour, it looks like Rick Roman is going to present the Vitamix Big Deal in studio without a host. Interesting.

I just checked the program guide, and it lists "QVC Guest" as the host for both the past hour and this one. Lisa and Rick are seasoned vendors/guests, so I guess this is a way to let them really shine and possibly save the Q a few bucks.  Smiley Wink

Didn't see this, but I really like Lisa. She does a great job of demonstrating the products and has a good sense of humor plus composure when things don't go according to plan.  lol

The QVC 2 solo guest shows have been in the studio for a while now.  They aren't just on Skype at their homes anymore.

Attitudes by Renee, Joan Rivers, Zuda, Lug, Temptations -- have all come in to the QVC Studio to do their solo shows.  I've seen several in the past couple of months at least.

@Caaareful Shopper - Interesting, thanks. Before last weekend, I hadn't seen any vendors do a show on their own in the Q2 studio—and then there were solo shows from Temp-tations and Vitamix plus the crazy Carla Hall show on the main channel all in the same day. I don't watch any of the fashion shows live because they're typically so full of irrelevant chatting, but perhaps just having the vendor present their items would make the content more watchable. I'll keep an eye out for listings showing "QVC Guest."

@loriqvc  It's still hard to know when they'll be on Skype vs in the QVC studio, even when the program guide says "QVC Guest."  They could be in either location.

It seems QVC is trying out the solo guests in the studio as a test.  I know I like it much better.  Smiley Happy

@Caaareful Shopper - Although it is sometimes hard to see all the details of the items, I've never really minded the vendor-led shows over Skype; they eliminate a lot of the pointless banter and typically at least talk about the items in more detail than in many hosted shows. (And don't get me wrong, sometimes the conversations and interactions between the hosts and vendors are nice and/or entertaining, but over the past couple of years, this has become less and less true.)

@loriqvc   I agree with you!  I don't mind skype when the brand rep is home and the host is in the studio.  It does seem to keep the banter more controlled and the rep can actually get in more of their side of the presentation.

But somehow, for me, when it's the brand rep alone, using skype seems so lonely and boring.  Bringing them into the studio, it's brighter, the audio is much better, and the items can be shown in their best light.  I never miss the host when the brand rep is alone in the studio either.

I didn't see the show, but both Lisa and Tara present fine on their own.  I'm guessing Rick Roman also did great on the vitamix show.  All three are seasoned reps and know their products well.  It would be a nice change.  Also, Tara was great when she hosted Tara and friends.  A great change without constant interruptions about colors every few minutes or so.

@loriqvc I have seen other vendors hosting the shows alone. I actually don't mind a bit, this way no one is talking over each other.
