planning on making bean soup. THIS time not soaking beans etc,,,always did, but not anymore (old and tired), so, ladies, do I add butter to liquid after I take out the bone and get the meat off etc (yea, butter, health food),,,,have Better than Bullion Ham base,,going to add, also onions, and green pepper, and tons of cracked pepper (mmmm). question is, I guess, I should NOT just dump the water the bone has been in, right???? flavor down the drain I'd think? any suggestions would be great, but I'm gonna wing it.
