glass storage containers---love them

I have a TON........of lock-n-lock--all sizes and shapes---have had them for years now--and the tabs are breaking----so have tossed a bunch out. Started using the glass containers mostly from Anchor Hocking and others---and boy are they the best!!! Have rounds and squares and rectangles in the smaller sizes--just me and DD now. they are great. Want the divided ones next as DD takes them with her lunch to work.  they go everywhere too--plastic starts to get that weird surface from heating in the micro---and stains too----have bought them from AMZ and Macys had a great sale on sets a few months ago.

@wagirl  I only use glass too and love them.  Bought some cole slaw the other day and it went immediately into glass.  I never feel plastic containers get clean.

@wagirl    I eliminated some of my round lock & lock and replaced with glass rectangle by OXO.  I like how they store in the refrigerator compare to a round container.

@wagirl  love glass containers. You can see what's in them clearly and they don't retain any smell. Kept my old lock n lock for when I send food home with someone and don't have to worry about getting it back!

I don't use glass in the freezer anymore - glass becomes slippery and are missiles as they slip through your hands....crashing to the floor.

Yesterday I trashed some old plastic ones - when I did finally find the correct lid  (original clear ones) - - couldn't get the lids off.  Ordered 2 new sets of the smaller sizes last night.

What a great idea! I bought some glass LNL and just not a fan. While I do love their plastic ones. My favorite glass is Snapware. I have had mine for years and while I do throw them in the dishwasher I have yet to lose a lid to breakage.

A clip broke off a snapware last night.  I went to kitchen just now to check brand.  These are 4 cup rounds.  Bottom says pyrex.  Top says snapware.  Lid is clear with yellow seal.  Lids have not been washed in dishwasher and lids are not put in microwave.  But this has been a workhorse.  I know I've used this particular set weekly for more than 3 years.

Another glass user here!  Slowly switched over to all glass storage containers.  I have eliminated most plastics from my kitchen.

[ Edited ]

I slowly donated and sent food home with friends in my plastic LNL.

Even switched my pantry over to all OXO pop up containers.  So much neater, cleaner and stack nicely. (my pantry LNL sets were over 7 years old time to go!)

I ordered a lot of glass LNL and love them, including casserole and mixing bowls ...sometimes Publix has Snapware or Anchor Hocking glass containers BOGO.

won't ever go back to plastic ..no more staining or marring in microwave.

And now hardly have leftovers or dinner company the glass pieces are just perfect sizes for us.
