cooking shrimp in wok - help!

I have a electriic wok and need to know how to tell when shrimp is cooked. I tried it tonight and cooked the raw shrimp for 3 minutes -it tasted a little spongy and not much taste. I don't want to undercook it.

My family is afraid when it's not cooked long. These are md/large shrimp. how many shrimp should i put in the wok at one time?
