cook's essentials electric portable cooker K49655

Can't find the use of the exhaust vent. or when to use it. ont on TV or in manual or on line.

Do you mean the vent on top of the lid?  You have it "opened" when warming food to prevent steam/pressure build up.  You have it "closed" when transporting/storing food.

 

I used to have it a few years ago under the MarkCharles Misilli name (MCM).  I warmed soup in it at work.  Looks to be the same product.

Crock pot makes one for about $25, and Elite Gourmet has a similar one for about $20.  Just saying for others interested.

 

I had a Crock Pot one and loved it when I worked.
