I wasn't paying attention and bought a jar of jam that wasn't seedless.

Does anyone know if I heat it up so that I can put it through a sieve to get the seeds out, will it reset?

@CelticCrafterI'd certainly try it, but just in case the taste or consistency is altered, why not do a few tablespoons as a test before doing the whole jar?   You can always put the melted jam on ice cream or stir it into some plain yogurt if you don't love it reset.

I put it in the microwave for 30 seconds on 50% power, strained it and it's back in the fridge.

If it doesn't reset, we can use it over pancakes or french toast or ice cream.

I love putting jam or preserves over ice cream. (I got the idea from a cookbook.) Cherry preserves over vanilla ice cream is my favorite. It's a good dessert for company when you want something simple. And pretty.

When I was a kid, my mom never bought fruit type toppings for ice cream.  She'd buy Hershey's Chocolate Syrup (in a can only back then) for topping vanilla ice cream & to make chocolate milk or with malt powder & ice cream for malts, but if I wanted fruit topping on my vanilla ice cream, she'd spoon some strawberry jam over the top.  I like it a lot better than the actual stuff made for ice cream & she always had strawberry jam on hand for school lunches anyway
