I got an e-mail from Amazon about deals on Zojirushi bread makers tomorrow in case any one is interested. They will be live starting 12 p.m. PST.

I love mine!

I have one in my Wish List, both at QVC and Amazon.  I will see how much they discount it before deciding to buy.  Hope it's a good sale!

Thanks for the heads up. 😁

Thanks I will have to check the prices. No deals on Prime Day that I could see. I did find they had a deal in April that I missed.

Have some dough in the bread machine right now for some buttermilk bread.

@Sooner  Seeing your post about the Zojirushi Bread Maker made me think about getting mine out of the cupboard and making some bread.   I bought the smaller version and used it quite a bit when I first purchased it.  At that time you could purchase the bread mixes from local stores or the King Arthur website.  Now you can't seem to find bread mixes anywhere.

It's a little more work to make the bread from scratch but it tastes so good that it's worth the extra time and ingredients.

I think I'll make some whole wheat pizza dough and have homemade pizza for dinner tomorrow night.

I bought a Hamilton Beach one earlier this year. It was on sale at Amazon at the time.  I can't justify the Zo price.  In fact, I only just today actually unpacked it.  I cleaned the parts, ran the 10 minute bake cycle, and cleaned again, so it's ready to go now.  I had to spend some time rearranging things in the kitchen to find a storage spot for it hidden from my husband.  Before you think I'm afraid of my husband for buying things I'm not.  It's just that he keeps thinking he wants to try a Keto diet, so I don't want to dangle a bread machine in front of him. I was thinking when I bought it I might make pizza dough in it, but now I know my Publix sells fresh pizza dough I would just go that route assuming I wanted to make fresh pizza.

Many, many years ago I had a DAK R2D2 machine that made large round loaves.  I did use it for quite awhile, but lost interest, and then when I pulled it out again to make pizza dough it almost walked off the countertop.  It also wasn't meant for making the heavier whole grain breads people like to make these days.  But, it was an impressive machine at the time and really before home bread machines became mainstream.

Not sure if I'll get to make a test loaf this weekend.  I have to pick up some bread flour and I need to see when hubby will be returning from his boat trip.  Or, I may just have to wait for his next boat trip.

@Icegoddess Oh I would love to have R2D2!!!  I have an R2D2 Instant pot--but it's not the same!!!  A friend used to make the best orange bread in his.  It was in the book that came with it.

@J Town Girl We bought some air-tight containers and make our own.  We just measure out about 4 or 5 loaves at a time--putting all the dry ingredients for a loaf in one container that fits without a lot of room for air.

When we make bread we put in the liquid, dump in the contents of the container and add the yeast fresh from the freezer at that time.  It makes great bread--you really don't have to layer it in the machine--just dump dry into wet, add the butter and yeast  and let it rip!  LOL!!!

@Sooner it WAS a great machine.  I ended up selling it, so somebody hopefully got some good use out of it.  Too bad you don't still have the recipe since you could probably use it in your new Zo assuming you buy one, although you might have to monkey with it due to difference in size.  That was one big loaf, really too much for just the two of us.  I think I still had the instruction manual when I sold it and gave it to the buyer.  However, you might actually be able to find it or just the recipe online.

Try this link (I don't think there are any ads to get it poofed):  https://manualzz.com/doc/6631543/dak-turbo-baker-ii-fab-200

Re: Zojirushi Breadmakers

[ Edited ]

I have the Orange Bread recipe from the DAK recipe book.  I used to have the R2D2 DAK machine and loved it, but eventually sold it when I upgraded to a model with more bells and whistles.  I've been unable to log in for several days and wanted to post this recipe earlier, so I hope Sooner sees it.  My favorite from the book is the Golden Egg Bread.  That's why I still have the recipe book; I never want to lose that recipe.  I will try the Orange Bread due to the glowing review, though. 🙂

Orange Bread

1 pkg. yeast

3 cups bread flour

1/4 cup sugar

1 tsp. salt

1 TBS butter

1 egg

2 TBS grated orange rind

1 cup orange juice (room temperature)

1/4 cup hot water

Add all ingredients into the pan according to the instructions for your bread machine.  Select the White Bread setting.
