@SouthernBee    I had to look the Yummy Can up as I'd never heard of it.  It's apparently an infomercial product sold for about $25.  That's a lot to microwave a potato.

@Kachina624 : Totally agree. My DH doesn't like microwave potatoes.

Learn something new everyday....I've never heard of, or seen, a potato nail.  We've always just poked them a few times with a paring knife or a fork.

When I am in a hurry for a baked potato I cook it partially in microwave and finish it off in oven.

I have never had a potato explode.

Now I have seen an egg explode when someone tried microwaving an egg ... a raw egg in the shell. It literally blew the door off the microwave. Talk about scary as all get out. And no, it wasn't me. Lol.

@shoptilyadropagain  Potato nails work great, the metal of the nails transfer the heat into the middle of the tater, so it gets done all the way thru.  I've had mine so long, I'm not sure what metal they are, but I think they're either stainless steel or aluminum.  A couple of mine, my mom bought in the 60's.  The shorter ones are 3½" & the longer ones are 7",  I mostly use the longer ones these days.

Got my Yummy can and love it. Better then baked or buy at Wendy's.

I'll use this for years to come. Put 2 potatoes in it and made one slit in each potato , even though they didn't say anything about doing that. In 10 minutes they were done, let cool and buttered.

Delicious !
