Chesapeake Bay girl here...love steamed crabs, raw oysters and used to catch our own crabs.  We never liked lobster.  I've had it, but not impressed.

@Kachina624   Fresh salmon off the boat, which is how we get ours, is not fishy.  It's actually a mild fish with a buttery taste. Absolutely delicious grilled.  The fishy taste typically comes from salmon that was frozen for weeks after a catch, typically defrosted in transit, and refrozen on it's way to your grocery store.  It breaks down the mildness of the fish.  How do I know this?  Our fisherman goes out every week from MD to Nova Scotia for his Atlantic salmon catch.  It's unreal.  Also get tuna and flounder fresh.

@bmorechick - I agree.  Fresh salmon is not "fishy".  And I can absolutely tell, when I'm served salmon that's been frozen, but is listed as "fresh" on a menu.

I love fresh salmon, lightly grilled and with a drizzle of teriyaki sauce.  Or just plain!

I buy those strips at the fish place inside of stores

bring home and saute in 'fake' butter. You can buy

salmon without that skin side costs more.

I buy the blackened side and it fries off in the skillet

anyway.

I'm not s seafood/fish eater whatsoever. My stomach turns flip flops from the smell inside a fish market when I go with friends at the beach. Even the smell at a beach seafood restaurant can make me nauseous. No way am I going to try it.

I love seafood....lobster, crab, salmon, scallops, halibut, etc etc. I eat seafood 1-2 times a week.

I found a great fishery in Alaska. I get their email specials that include free overnight shipping so I always wait for one I want because I can add to it (still without paying shipping).

The Alaska fishery also offers crab and lobster without the shells.

@BlueFinch , I've never had fresh king crab legs. A friend who traveled quite a bit to the West Coast/Canada area told me they're his favorites. Since it would surely be cost prohibitive here on the East Coast, I don't want to even try them knowing it would be a one time deal. I sure don't need to get hooked on something I neither can get over here nor afford! We can get snow crab legs here, not fresh of course. My friend said there's absolutely no comparison. Enjoy them, I'll always dream of tasting at least once.

@SharkE , I've noticed more and more that the canned salmon I can get here say "boneless". It's not always easy to find it with those yummy morsels included. When my mother made salmon patties, it was always a special treat when I'd find them in my patties!

We love all seafood. If it is fresh and prepared well.my favorite.  And I like my clam chowder!  One of the many great things about where we live.  And spending time at the Cape,

enjoying naughty stuff for our diet - fried clams!

I've seen better pictures of salmon.

Catfish another favorite is ugly, but, I was surprised

to watch a show on TV that said they didn't have any teeth.

These men were wading out in the water and catching them by hand and said they would pick them up by putting their hands in their mouth.

They do have good suction with their jaws and they would clamp down on their hands and they would holler !!   LOL I thought all fish had teeth !

What about octopus ? Nothing uglier. People eat snake, bugs, shark (!) there is some kind of Japenese fish that is poison that can only be prepared by a well educated chef. I learned of it from 'Columbo' episode

LOL Seem like it was 'puffer'.
