Re: Your Turkey and Stuffing

We rotisserie a smaller whole turkey in our trusty Ronco Showtime "Set it and Forget it" and I make slow cooker dressing.

I also hack off the wings the day before and make a "Do-Ahead Gravy", saving some of that broth for the dressing to give it some extra oomph.

Re: Your Turkey and Stuffing

Smoking a whole turkey, not stuffed, cornbread dressing will be baked separately.

I will be cooking 2 turkey breasts, and our dressing is always baked in round patties.

Re: Your Turkey and Stuffing

So interesting to hear what everyone does! Thanks for the replies. I usually do a whole turkey with the stuffing inside. I was thinking of maybe doing just the turkey breast this year, but I probably won't. What else is on your menu?

Re: Your Turkey and Stuffing

I do a whole turkey and never stuff it .... stuffing on the side.

What I always do is pour in a can of undiluted Campbells French Onion soup inside the bird ..... not only does it season the turkey from the inside out, but the juices and the soup base make the BEST gravy! {#emotions_dlg.thumbup}

This Thanksgiving I will be doing a whole turkey about 11 lbs. in my Nu Wave oven, I do the stuffing separately.

I will cook a Butterball and put my stuffing inside. Any stuffing that overflows sits on the legs to cook. I use a cooking bag so everything is very moist.

I always make the stuffing in a separate casserole.

I do the same...

I do the same thing but I must say my (grown) kids can "sniff out" the one from inside the bird - that's the only one they'll eat.

Truth be told, that's the one I "sniff out" and prefer as well. I put both on the table but I secretly hope my guests take the other one first...lol.
