Very little cooking this week at my house - now I am waiting for the searing heat to return. Triple digits AGAIN!!!

How is Maria doing Pooky1? Have been thinking about her - do hope she has made some positive progress.

actually all i made was a ham and cheese fratatta. my mother inlaw has been cooking a little extra and sending it up. when we came home from having her stent taking out yestaday she had made a sauce with shrimp and sqause from garden over fettichine when we got home. marias appointment was 230 pm so she exspected to be home by 500. she didnt get takin in until 530 and we got home at 700. her pain from stent is gone.shes hasnt felt like eating for a while when we came out of hospital she said im starving witch is a good sign. shes still tired and started iv meds today that goes for a week to get rid of blood fungus. i have vacuumed mopped floors cleaned the bathroom while she was in hospital. and did laundry and dishes.this morning i went grocery shopping. hope everyone has a good weekend and thanks for asking.

Glad to hear your wife is HOME - and hopefully continues to feel better. She certainly went "through the wringer" as my Mother would say. Bless her!!!!

Hotter than you know what here - just miserable. Still hot now and it is 9:30. Hot or warm nights are NOT our usual. Super difficult to deal with and I sweated a lot of the day - needless to say that means the humidity has returned. Not going to be a good week - back into triple digits. Yikes!

I am tired - did not feel the best today , now that does not mean I was hurting. Just the heat/humidity getting to this super old lady - and with COPD, it is difficult.

Birds got food and water this morning and am sure they are happy. I had notice it seemed as if the sprinklers were not working right. AGAIN something is wrong with a few of them. I cannot understand as I pay, pay and pay to get them in sync and one or more seems to auto go bananas on me. One is broken - had Davey mow the other day and lectured him big time on not breaking the sprinklers. Cannot say he did it but cannot figure out anything else. So here we go again - more $$$$$$ Also three of the sprinklers are not moving right so they have to be adjusted. Just do NOT understand this.

Got some chunks of boneless pork, green beans, cut up red potatoes and onions - of course - tossed it all the slow cooker. Also fixed separately some buttered corn. Now we ate extremely well tonight.

Hotter than you know what. The experts say it only got to 101 - it was so humid, hard to breathe and I suspect it may have been a tad warmer. Rest of the week will be hovering around 105, 106 and 107. This stuff is miserable. Got spoiled with two weeks of hot weather but there was no mugginess and the nights during that period were quite chilly - our normal however.

This entire week is now predicted to run about 108 or higher. And so very humid! Just miserable and the nights are staying around 80 - not good.

Was hot all night long - cannot get cool enough.

My running around will start a little after 7 this morning - not looking forward to anything I have to do today quite frankly.

Pooky1, hope Maria is continuing to do better. I did see where you are doing some chores - now what a great person you are and I know she appreciates it.

Today should now hit 109 - this is disgusting and that is with humidity. We had 4 drops of rain yesterday - unreal!!! House feels so hot as the ACs are running but not cooling - there is a message in that. Electricity blew for a short time - am sure the use of electricity is way too high now . I then turned the AC off in the kitchen - it wasn't doing a good job anyway. Left the TV on in the living room for cartoons and I left my unit on - in my bedroom - as when I had it put in I added a line. I had remembered well the minimal lines in this house - well when it was built they did not have all this fancy stuff and very few ACs - even out here. Mother did put in extra lines for the kitchen and carport - those areas are well taken care of. Bought some tacos for dinner - cannot stand over that stove in this weather. Also have to stop spending $$$ on stuff. Today Ricky goes to a "class" at Riverside County Mental Health for an hourly session. I did NOT do anything I was suppose to do so they will be upset with me. Will be honest with them and tell them had too many things happening - and that was the truth. So for dinner tonight? - Do have a package of terriyaki chicken in the Freezer - I will take that out and Nuke it. Go with? Salad, what else.

@Winifred I don't know how you stand that horrible heat and humidity, I would perish. For the past three weeks or so, we have had 70's weather, wonderful, with a few 80's here and there, and even when the real heat hits here, it is to remain in the 80's with a few 70's and 90's here and there. I can't bear the 90's much less the 100's, no way. Lay as low as you can during this horrific heat and humidity, and keep hydrated!
