Deb--I don't own the pot but from the video presentation, it appears to be an electric saucepan.   Kind of an "extra burner" type pot that would be used in place of regular stovetop saucepans, but naturally not used on the stove.   It does not have the functionality of the "WonderPot" that other posters are mentioning, but simply steams or boils food.  Thanks for posting; I'm going to order one of these to go in our motorhome.

@Deb in SD what an interesting little appliance!  I have an old electric stove which takes forever to heat up so I now use an induction burner which I love.  If I wasn't moving soon to a place that cooks with gas I would definitely consider this as it takes up very little space and would be great for quickly heating water for tea and instant coffee.
