TRUE.

We have a few in our are 2 new builds.  They are okay.

Very cheap quality food many items high in sat fat/trans fat, sugar, and/or salt.

Most of the produce is fair.  Most is from Mexico.  I bought blueberries there at a great price but they were barely edible.

The celery was fine but turned very quickly.

My mom can not shop there because things spoil too quickly- she is a widow and lives by herself.

The name brand items are the same or higher priced than at Wegmans.

PS

I also bought a bottle of yellow mustard.  It was fine.

There's an Aldi's about 15 minutes from me.  I've never been there and from what I understand it's just okay....however a Wegmans is supposed to come to the town next to me sometime in the next year or so and that will be very excitng!

Now there are two Wegmans about half an hour away.

Lucky you!  You may not shop there much but it's nice to have another option.

Re: Wow, We Are Getting An Aldi's.

I was happy when an Aldi' s opened in the next county, last year, even tho I still haven't been there yet. My daughter and her boyfriend shop there weekly and are happy with their purchases.

We recently lost our Save-a-lot stores, and while I rarely bought much there, it was another shopping option we no longer have. I would love to see a popular grocery store open in these locations, as the shopping centers have such easy access.

Wow your experience has been completely different than mine. Maybe it depends on the area

Some Aldi's are very nice. Others are not.  We lived in KS and it was horrible but when we moved to another state, it's very nice  and clean.  Nice produce and season specialty items change all the time.  We go weekly.  Try it.  Eggs are usually around 29 cents a dozen and milk is about 1.29/gal. The same company that owns Aldi's  owns Trader Joe's.

Not true, the Aldi stores in the US are owned by a different company.

In my area Aldis are great. In fact they have the freshest and lowest prices. I have never seen anything setting in boxes except when employees are stocking. In fact you can take the empty boxes to pack your groceries in if you wish , as many people do.

Their sourdough bread is terrific and the wannabe Ezekiel bread is too and less expensive than Ezekiel brand. I have bought kitchen gadgets and found small sized bakeware to use in toaster oven that has been a good quality.

I go to other stores also for brand name items like coffee and cat food  (although I do stock up on tuna there for my cats ) Even the neighborhood cats I feed would not eat the store brand of cat food I bought there.

@CrazyKittyLvr2  you may find it helpful to go to youtube and put Aldis in search. There are videos by Aldi shoppers.

@littlemom3   wow.  Do you mind if I ask what state you are in.  While eggs here are reasonable, we pay near 3.60 for a gallon of milk.  Eggs 1.39-1.69.  I’m in PA.
