I got mine today too!  The turkey breast is uge.  The sides are as expected.  2 pounds isnt much.  But i am serving this for a regular weekday meal.  To eat for a week!!  No big cooking, yes!!! It will be plenty.  Concider salad, veggies, dessert.  It is enough   2 pounds of potatoes or sides is only about 4 cups food total.

which arrived today. I will not be cooking it for a week or so but, IMO, the sides are very, very small. In fact, I thought a box of one of them might be missing. It will not be enough for any 4 people I know. Based on that alone, I cancelled my auto ship.

Wow. I am surprised. Please share how the meal turned out when you serve it.

I don't think the sides are enough if that's all you're serving.  I got mine to use as the base for a dinner party and will add several other sides, salad, appetizer, and rolls.  For what I'm using it for, it should be plenty.  Each will fill a one quart serving dish nicely.

The turkey breast will be plenty for at least 8 people with the other food I'm offering.  If more than that rsvp for my party, I'll supplement with a small spiral ham.

@RollTide2008 I believe you are the poster hosting the "Friendsgiving", if I'm wrong about that please forgive me.

I am really curious to hear how your dinner turns out! I've always wanted to do something similar, but for the near future holidays are pretty much geared towards my Dad and he likes his traditional/family activities. I'm not complaining, very grateful we still have that option with him. Heart

You answered two of my questions already (RSVP'ing and supplementing other sides).....are you going to ask any of your guests to also bring sides/desserts?

hope you guys have a blast and can't wait to hear how it turns out Smiley Happy

I've done this the last few years.  My son likes to have our own Thanksgiving at our house before we go "home" for the holiday.  It seems to grow every year.  This year I invited 20 and expect 8 to 12.  I usually do dinner the Sunday before Thanksgiving but had a conflict this year so it's Saturday the 11th this year.

I don't necessarily ask my friends to bring anything, but if anyone offers, I graciously accept.  Mostly they bring wine or dessert.  I almost didn't do it this year.  I moved to townhouse that doesn't have a dining room.  My friends and I enjoy it so much I decided that's silly and bought some tv trays to supplement seating.

I received mine yesterday and I appreciated the size and color of the frozen turkey breast, it will easily feed the 6 of us.  As for the sides I knew they would be small as I previously purchased the St. Clair 2 lb sides and they are identical.  I didn't purchase for the sides, just wanted this turkey breast.  Not using this one for Thanksgiving, this will be for Halloween night.  If we enjoy it as much as I anticipate l I will keep my next delivery and just add a few sides to the ones purchased for Thanksgiving.  Hope those that ordered enjoy theirs!

yes, it is a great base.  Usually there are tons of sides people bring or one buys.  Personally, I did not order potatoes, thats what everyone loves, a couple cups wouldnt pass the first person here, lol!  As i said I bought my dinner for a week day meal  for my husband and I.  I will have my mom and her caretaker over. I will have green salad, cranberry, i have mac n cheese and spinach.  I also bought the st claire sweet potaoe casserole. Then green beans, rolls   I will have left overs all week

I have served that for 3 holidays and it is the best.  While it is frozen I carefully slip both casserole into a 13x9 dish, cover, put in fridge.  Overnight. Then bake

Also includes 4 pounds of side dishes (2 side dishes of 2 lbs each).

Thought to be sufficient to feed as many as 8-12 people for a holiday dinner, at a half pound of meat and perhaps a quarter pound of side dishes per person, this becomes a dinner of $10-$12 per serving.

That seems very reasonable. I don’t think I could cook a turkey and that much side dish for much less, and I’d have a lot more work. This is pretty easy to get ready and not extremely expensive.

The price is not just for the meat. It’s for the complete meal.

People tend to feast on the holiday, and the serving sizes they quote on this meal would be healthy eating I'm sure, but an embarrassment to serve to company.

I could purchase the food to prepare these items and several others, with much more quantitiy than they are trying to pass off here, and even get dessert made for that same money.
