1. No bacteria exist which can't be killed with bleach/proper sanitizing, so to everyone using that excuse: stop it lol; what you're experiencing, is a psychological aversion to using that pot now.

2. Properly sanitize it, then toss something *else* in there for a while that's pleasant to look at or smell--maybe some fresh/artificial flowers, those autumn cinnamon pinecones, pretty candles, mulling spices, etc. THEN clean it, and enjoy using it.

3. There's no way a mouse can "compress" itself to get into a pot whose lid is securely placed.

I would toss it and would probably never be able to eat corn again either.
