Would like to try a new wine. Any suggestions?

I like Riesling, Pinot Noir, Merlot, Pinot Grigio is okay. I do not like Chardonnay. Can drink white zinfandel but it's not my favorite.

I see all these different wines at the store when I shop and I would love to try some new and different varieties but I am by no means a connoisseur. Any suggestions as to something new to try? Reading the descriptions on the bottles really never seems to tell me anything I end up actually tasting. {#emotions_dlg.rolleyes}

So, what are some of your favorites?
