At the weekend summer wine festivals, for generally $10-15 you can buy a ticket that lets you taste all the local wines up for offer at the festival. There are usually 20-80 wines on offer and I like to try as many as possible!! I have to remember to eat a hardy meal before hand because, otherwise, the wine goes right to my head!

That is true for sure.  Some years ago I was able to go to a vinyard in the South of France for wine tasting.  I was with a group of people on a bus tour and the driver had fortunately brought bread for us to eat before the tasting.  The wine was wonderful and the bread helped.

@CLEM lol, I know all about this all too well. At one festival I had to sleep it off in my car. Smiley Wink

I bought a new wine yesterday.  It's a malbec and it's called El Libre.  That's my new malbec!

bebe, I got excited when I saw your name.  I thought you came back to tell us you tasted your neighbor's wine.

@HonnyBrown lol, it's going to be months probably. My friend and her husband live in another state and I only periodically visit them. And he's doing medical grant work in Africa so he's out of the country a lot of the time. lol, it's going to be a while... but I'll be sure to let you know. Smiley Wink

I went to Total Wine on Saturday to get a case of my usual and 2 bottles of red.  I went during a busy time and it was pretty chaotic.  I checked out and when I got home, I realized I was charged incorrectly.

Thank goodness I kept my receipt.  I took it back yesterday and the problem was corrected.

The guy rang me up for a case of one bottle, then charged me for each individual bottle in the case.

Chardonnay lovers: you have to try Firebrand!  It's a full bodied chard with a beautifully floral finish.

I picked up a bottle from Total Wines for $8.99. Lovely!

Hi Everyone!

I found a ne malbec that I absolutely fell in love with! Of course, I can't find the cork, so I don't remember what it is.

I am still drinking Dark Horse chardonnay and Low Hanging Fruit chardonnay.

What about you?

I only drink the fabulous wines from my state, Michigan. We have some wonderful wineries we visit several times a year. What a fun time!

I didn't know Michigan had wineries! When I lived in Southfield, I hadn't started drinking wine. Where are they? Up near the peninsula? What kind of grapes are grown there?
