Why are all the food items so high??

[ Edited ]

Everytime a food item is sold on QVC it's always $50, $60 or more~ it's just crazy, when you can just go to local grocery store or sometimes Amazon and get the same thing for way less... I could understand if the items were fresh, but it's frozen food....Just as well buy yourself a tv dinner & call it a day LOL.

Re: Why are all the food items so high??

I guess the prices are to reflect the convenience of not having to assemble the ingredients and cook it ourselves.

Having said that, I find the prices ridiculous too.

I like to cook and honestly, I have never bought anything premade that tastes anywhere near as good as something I make myself.

You are absolutely correct, many times food items sold here are much cheaper on Amazon or Sam's club.

Nobody is forcing anyone to buy it.  You're paying for the convenience of having somebody cook for you and then ship it packed in dry ice.  Just the shipping is very expensive.   If you don't like the price, cook it yourself.

They showed a new item this afternoon, "Skinny Pasta", a 12 pack for $46 and change.  The exact same item is sold through WW website and Amazon for $35.00 & $36.00 respectively.  I just don't get it...

Some of the items purchased are probably desired by people who may have lived in the area, like Corky's BBQ, then moved away and would like more Corky's.

It's not like they eat it every day.

I would never buy a cake or cheese cake but I've been tempted once or twice buying a food product but it's just not my lifestyle.   I live alone, the kids & grands come over often but it's just not worth it at any price.

I found something different in the grocery store lately.  You've heard of Ball Park Franks?   I found frozen Ball Park MEATBALLS.    Contains bacon.   Awesome!  No point in making my own.

Because you really are paying for shipping and handling--they've just added it to the price of the food item.

Not sure why a certain poster has to be so "snarky".  Original poster has a right to opinion and to post it.  If you don't like the opinion, move along. And yes, I know you have the right to post and be as "snarky" as you want. Just isn't "nice".

I've noticed that, too.  There are a few posters you can always count on to pass the snark, no matter what the topic.  They always have to stir the pot, and add a dollop of rudeness.

I agree with you on the high pricing of some items, especially since you can get similar through Amazon Fresh and other online retailers, and I think QVC will have to lower prices on some items to remain competitive. That being said, there are a couple of things that QVC carries that my family just loves and will continue buying for the quality and convenience like Germack and Heartland Fresh.

Yes, they are so predictable. So what if someone thinks something is too expensive, that is their right. And the snarky comments don't add anything useful to the topic. I just laugh, because you can just predict who will reply and what they will say.
