Anybody here buys their seafood at Wholefoods?  Particulary a lobster tail (small), clams or Alaskan King Crab Legs?  I know Wholefoods is generally more expensive, but just wondering if it's worth it.  I know Costco has had it in the past, sometimes this time of year but it's hit or miss and I don't know if I feel like tackling the crowds at Costco for that especially if they don't have it this year.

Never have had really good luck at WF.  Always wondered about any never frozen claims.

I get anything special at a local market.  Costs more, but really good.

I thought about that too. There's one local market near me but choices/variety is not great.  Thanks!

I am very fortunate as my DD lives in Seattle and sends crab from Pike Place Fish Market for special occasions.  Had Alaskan King Crab legs for dinner yesterday.  What a treat!

We've ordered from Pike Place to be shipped, DH was very pleased!

WF is hit or miss (at least or location). The good thing is that they are very honest informing customers if their selection isn't the best.

I ordered from Joe's Stone Crab for shipment for a milestone birthday for DH. While I'm a vegetarian, I thoroughly enjoyed the key lime pie! That was quite the feast!

I actually buy my seafood from WF often.   Everything must fall under certain guidelines to be sold there.  The fish is almost always wild caught (especially the scallops) but if the fish is farm raised, it again is under strict guidelines.  It's always been good for us, we've never had a problem and we are big seafood people.
