DH asked for cupcakes, so I'm making some chocolate cupcakes with green frosting.  It will be a challenge to make them festive and low-key at the same time.

I don't like silly looking desserts.  

Is anyone else making a St. Paddy's themed dessert today?

Yes, I made a dessert but not necessarily for St. Patty's day. I just made a Lemon Ladyfinger Dessert only because I needed to use up the ladyfingers I bought a while ago. It looks pretty good!

i cooked our corned beef and cabbage yesterday because we have other plans for today.   my girlfriend brought st. patrick's day cookies and so that will be my dessert today

I did make one.  At my husband's request.  He asked for a white cake with green frosting with green sprinkles.

I happened to have white cake mix on hand, so I made that, "doctoring" it up by using butter and milk and an extra egg, the way they suggest to make mixes better (I've been playing with these ideas lately, with varying results).

I made buttercream frosting tinted green and had green crystals left over from Christmas cookies, so he's getting what he wanted.  I stuck some paper shamrocks onto toothpicks and put them on top. 

Looks festive, even though I took the easy way out on this.

Okay, you talked me into it.  I decorated my apple pie with green sanding sugar.  It's in the oven baking now.

LOL. Not a fan.  I prefer plain old white sanding sugar.  I am a baker, not a decorator.

Omgosh! That's beautiful!  My pies are yummy but they are never pretty like that!
